Dr. Sanjay Lalwani, a Pediatrician by profession did his graduate and postgraduate degrees from B J
Medical college Pune in the year 1991. With penchant for teaching, Dr. Lalwani is the Professor and
Head of the Department of Paediatrics, The Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Vice-Principal and The Medical
Director of Bharti Vidyapeeth Medical College Pune.
Paeditracs at Bharati Vidyapeeth is one of the most acclaimed departments, not only in the state of
Maharashtra but also across the country. It is known to roll out the maximum sub-specialists in the field
of Paediatrics in order to serve the community. Dr. Lalwani’s vision has been instrumental in developing
maximum sub-specility programs under the umbrella of Paeditrics – in the country as well as from other
SAARC nations. As of date, more than 250 fellows have made their careers through these fellowship
programmes.
Dr. Sanjay Lalwani is known in the medical circles, nationally and internationally, as a knowledgeable
Consultant, a good administrator with a go-to approach for any hospital related queries. His inquisitive
nature has led to building a globally recognized vaccine centric research programme; which has helped
shape India’s Vaccination programme and has had publication in most prestigious medical journal – The
Lancet.
Dr. Sanjay Lalwani and his wife have been running a 15 bedded Nursing Home on Pune Satara road from
the year 1996. Over the years, the medico couple realized that they needed to evolve their services to
cater to the growing needs of the patients of South Pune. Hence the vision was laid to build a 65 bedded
State-of-the art Mother and Child care Hospital on Pune-Satara road under the brand name of Lalwani
Mother and Child Care (LMCC).
Dr. Sanjay’s vision, under LMCC, is to provide good facilities for the Child care which includes
Neonatology and Pediatric intensive care and all sub-specialties in pediatrics.
Dr. Sanjay is an avid reader, a respected teacher, a sound orator. His students, across the globe, are
proud to keep up his legacy in the field of Paediatrics.
